The Local Area

Just on our doorstep is the Avon Valley with its excellent footpaths and Dartmoor, which can be seen in all its glory from the campsite. Nearby attractions including the Pennywell Farm Activity Centre, Woodlands Adventure Park and Paignton and Dartmoor Zoos. It is just a short drive to many of the National Trust’s properties including Saltram House, Overbecks, Greenway (Agatha Christie’s summer home), medieval Cotehele and Buckland Abbey – home of Sir Francis Drake.

Just a short drive away is the beautiful South Devon coastline which has many wonderful beaches including Bigbury Bay, Bantham, South Sands, Blackpool Sands, East Soar Cove, and Slapton.

And if you are looking to do a little shopping, Holsome Park is conveniently situated halfway between the old market towns of Totnes and Kingsbridge, while both Plymouth and Exeter are a short drive away up the A38.
